Harlequin Duck & Snowy Owl

Updated: Jan 5, 2023

December 6, 2022

Around 10:15 a.m this morning I hiked the north pier at Ludington Harbor and half-way to the lighthouse I located a female Harlequin Duck at least 200 yards north of the harbor. This may well be the same female I photographed at the harbor on November 16th. Then around 10:30 a.m. the first reported Snowy Owl in the county was found atop the Ludington Pumped Storage Reservoir by a former co-worker of Mark Wloch. Hope both these birds stay around for the CBC on the 17th !!
